Screw conveyor / compactor

This equipment is manily dedicated to the treatment of screening waste, sludge and sand/grit as part of the treatment of urban or industrial wastewater.

Shaftless screw conveyor

  • The shaftless screw made of special steel is installed in a U-shaped trough, made of successive folded plates of 304L stainless steel in its standard version.
  • The absence of a shaft and intermediate stages practically eliminates any risk of clogging.
  • Entirely covered, this equipment is secure, odourless and clean. The trough is protected from wear and tear by PEHD or stainless steel lamellas.
  • In each case, the gear motor can either push or pull. The screw conveyor can be installed both indoors and out and has a large number of discharge options.

BENEFITS

  • Robustness
  • Reduced maintenance (few wearing parts) and low initial investment
  • Limited clogging risk
  • Odourless and clean
  • Not affected by fibrous materials
  • Long lengths possible
  • Angle up to 30°
  • Wearing material suited to the product (waste, grit, etc.)

Shaftless screw compactor

This system compacts the screening waste from sewage treatment plants. The volume reduction can reach 50%, and dryness: 30%.

The screw compactor includes a drainage area, a transport area and finally a dewatering/compacting area

  • The waste is transported to the compacting area by a stainless steel shaftless screw. The press housing, the wringing unit and the conveyor tubes are made of 304L stainless steel in the standard version
  • The trough is protected from wear and tear by PEHD or stainless steel strips
  • The waste is dewatered according to the length of the plug and the pressure exerted by the adjustable outlet valve, by means of a counterweight. The expressed liquor is evacuated via a drain

In order to avoid stagnation of the liquors in the screw trough, the screw should be installed at a slight slope(2 or 3°)

  • The longest possible trough is 6 linear metres for a slope of 20°
  • R&O also offers a bagging system. The plastic bags are 90 m-long endless bags or filter bags.

BENEFITS

  • Robustness
  • Reduced maintenance (few wearing parts) and low initial investment
  • Limited clogging risk
  • Odourless and clean
  • Not affected by fibrous materials
  • Throughput: from 2 – 13 m3/h
  • Efficient rinsing of the strainer
